Ten Americans Who Receive Most Money. Press Association—Copyright. Washington, Jan. 7. Congress has listed the following ten persons as receiving the most money in salaries, bonuses and commissions, but excluding investment incomes, in 1935: William Randolph Hearst (newspaper magnate), £100,006. Mae West (film actress), £96,160. C. W. Guttzeit (steel executive), £79,760. A. P. Sloan (General Motors), £74,900. Marlene Dietrich (film actress), £73,000. Win-field Sheehan (General Motors), £67,000.
O. W. F. Knudsen (General Motors), £65,160. Bing Crosby (film actor), £63,000. B. D. Miller (president. Woolworths), £61,800. T. J. Watson (president, International Business Machine), £59,000. It is revealed that Stan Laurel, the film comedian, with £31,200, earns almost twice as much as his partner, Oliver Hardy, Charlie Chaplin earned £52,000 aod Shirley Temple £13,900.
