AUCKLAND GALE.
North-East Storm Visits Queen City. Press Association—Copyright. Auckland, Last Night. Whipping up from the north-east early in the morning, a violent gale, accompanied by heavy squalls of rain, lashed Auckland harbour until well into this afternoon. In some places along the waterfront the waves were swept up to a height that was stated to be even greater than that seen during-the storm of February last year, but principally because the majority of pleasure craft are away on summer cruises the damage to the boats at their moorings was not nearly so widespread as was the case then.
