PRIMARY SCHOOL BATHS.
CRACK IN CONCRETE. Faults Are Still Being Investigated. The damage to the floor of the Stratford Primary School baths and the methods to be adopted to remedy the fault is still occupying the attention of the school committee. Cuts have been made in the earth beneath the crack and these will be explored by an engineer engaged to advise the committee. It would appear that in the course of years there has been al gradual opening in the earth towards, the river and it is considered not improbable that if the seepage from the baths was not checked a slip would have occurred, carrying portion of the baths into the river. Should it be found that there is a natural seepage beneath the baths, pipes will be put in to cope with the water, after which the crack in the floor will be sealed either with bitumen or with concrete. i Because of the closing of the baths? Stratford Swimming Club members are placed in an awkward predicament through not having proper facilities for training for the Taranaki championships. Soma have been making use of a dam on Mr Nelson’s 1 Blast Road property and others have been training at another dam on the property of Mr Wickham at Bird Road.
