Huge Expenditure Last Year On Armaments. Press Association—Copyright. Received 12.30 p.m. London, January 1. The rising expenditure on armaments is clearly revealed in the Exchequer returns to December 31, which shows a deficiency of £138,85f,000. The ’Suipplleimeinta/ry Defence ftstimate was overdrawn by £58,372,000, and already £32,000,000 more than last year have been spent on services, to bring the total expenditure to £582,148,000.
