Dragged for about 14 yards underneath the cow-catcher of a locomotive in' the Thorndon railway, yards tonight Mr. Cyril George Fawcett, a cleaner, aged 20, received extensive injuries which necessitated his admission to hospital.’ I Mr. Fawcett was riding on. the cowcatcher of the engine which was returning to the locomotive shed when he shipped and his legs became entangled undef the catcher. He was dragged about 14 yards before the engine was brought to a standstill. He suffered shock and internal injuries, fractured his right thigh and received: an injury to his left foot.
