SHIP COLLISION.

Freighter Cuts Through Tug At Melbourne. Press Association —Copyright. Melbourne, December 22. In a collision in Port Phillip Bay early this morning the Adelaide Steamship Company’s freighter Alara, of 3279 tons, almost cut through the tug J. W. Alexander, which at the time was towing two lighters to Geelong. Two of the tug’s crew were thrown into the sea but were rescued. The 'tug is now aground in feet of water beside the main channel.
