JERSEY CLUB.
Autumn Show Proposal Supported. -Support for the Stratford A. and Association’s plan to hold an autumn show in March next was expressed fit a meeting of the Stratford Jersey Cattle Club last night. Mr r. H'c.C<lemotv presided. The chairman explained that the meeting had been called so that questions, such as prize money and a jiidge, could be considered. He had inquired whether the council of the New Zealand Association would subsidise any prize money the club might put up, but a reply had not y’et bean received. Mr H. J. Kaye asked whether Ithe show was to be taken as\a criterion for future guidance. | ; “This autumn show is more or less a trial,” said Mr H. C. Johnson. “As there is to be a show in the atitumn all we can do is do our best to help it,” said Mr D. O'Sullivan. It was explained that the A. and P. Association would provide about
£5OO in cash for prize money. When the chairman mentioned that the show would be held about the time of the field day and that 'some expense might be saved in abandohing the field day, Mr Johnson said he did not consider the saving of about £2 8s warranted such a 'step. Mr A. Horn (Levin) is to be asked to act as judge of the Jersey section. Mr A. H. R. Amess, principal of the Stratford Technical High School, thanked the club for providing a Jersey cow for the school herd.
