I FIRST ROUND PLAYED. Stratford Ladies Win All Singles. j The first round of the Petrie ; Shield tennis competition was played on Saturday. The A teams of the two leading clubs, Stratford and Methodist met at the Stratford courts where, largely owing to the play of the women who won all their singles, the home team secured a victory by 10 matches to six.
