LUCKY ESCAPE.
I Stratford Motorists Collide On Mountain Road. i Although one vehicle crashed into a hedge and the other into a ditch, none of the live people concerned in a collision occurring between two cars on the Mountain Road, between the Waipuku factory and the railway station on Saturday night, were injured. The cars were driven by Mr A. E. Sparrow, Stratford, and Mr AV. E. Vesty, Croydon Road. The right hand running board and the front and rear mudguards were torn off Mr Sparrow’s car, which was I travelling towards Stratford, and it I veered to the right to dive into a | ditch at the edge of a Six foot drop j into a creek. Mr Vesty"s car also careered to the right, following damI age to the front wheel and disloca- | tion of the steering gear. No glass was broken on either car. I Mr Sparrow was accompanied by I Mis Sparrow and Miss Kennedy, I i Stratford, and Mr Vesty by Itis son, but there w. re no injuries of any kind.
