AUSTRALIAN JOURNAL
Review of December Issue. When a beautiful adventuress attempts to blackmail a presumably wealthy' young man, not knowing that he is a bushranger, something exciting is bound to eventuate. Rex Grayson tells what does happen in “Interlude in Old Sydney,” another adventure of that irrepressible rogue, Captain Hawke. This is one of the outstanding features of the December “Australian Journal,” an issue that will appeal to all readers of good, wholesome’ fiction. Women readers 'will be interested in “The Homecoming,” a sentimental story with a Christmas flavour, by Beryl Gray. All those who enjoy a good laugh cannot fail to be amused by' “Thirty Bob,” in which Frances J. Moon describes a party of aboriginals on a picnic, and ijts accompanying illustrations done in Alex Mcßae’s funniest style. Also featured are such popular writers as Richard Keverne, Elizabeth Powell, Captain F. Rhodes, the New Zealanders John Guthrie and Cecil 11. V. Steere, and others. The issue contains all the usual popular features, including fashion, cookery, wireless, knitting, needlework, dressmaking and children’s sections, and costs only sixpence at all newsagents.
