(By “Jack.”) Eltham A defeated Avon A on the Eltham green in a banner match on Saturday. At the tea adjournment Avon were 20 up, four of the five teams hol/ling a substantial lead. 'I he Weston—Stewart game resulted in a win by 20 points for Stewart. His team combined well and gave him solid support all through. » * • Cook defeated Brown by 12 points after a good game and although the Eltham skip went down he played first class bowls. The Lonsdale— Casey game resulted in a win for the Eltham skip by four points. Lonsdale had the lead practically all through but failed on the last few heads to score. * • • Bulman defeated Mumby by’ about four points on the 25th head. The Avon rink had a substantial load all 'through but failed on the last, few heads to eventually win by four. The game between Dickinson and Tiplady resulted in a win for Eltham by five points. Dickinson had a substantial lead a few heads from home, but failed to hold the Eltham team, who scored a six and a five in the last few heads. (Continued on Page 3).
