Traditional Christmas At Sandringham Press Association—Copyriglxt. London, December 15. Queen Mary will not be present at the Coronation now that Queen Elizabeth will be crowned, but will probably attend the private service at Marlborough House. chapel, as Queen Alexandria did ’when King George V was crowned, - says' the Daily Telegraph.' The Manchester Guardian anticipates an early announcement of King George’s coronation durbfir in India, after which he will tour the country, probably for two months, contrasting with King Edward’s intention to limit his visit to a few days for the durbar as he had already travelled throughout .India.
A Court circular states that the King is pleased on the occasion of his birthday to confer upon his wife Queen Elizabeth the title and dignity of a Lady of the Most Noble Order of the Garter. Thus for the first time in history two ladies are members of the Order, the other being Queen Mary. It is anticipated that the Duke of Kent will be appointed a Privy Councillor shortly. He is the only one of the brothers not appointed, and this was the reason he did not attend, the Accession Councils at?- 1 King George VI.
