This lias been, made | possible by the cooperation of a numI her of sports bodies in the town who ! were approaches by .the Windsor | Park committee and have entered i enthusiastically into the scheme. j Kull use is to be made of the Patea, i as two river events by the Stratford ] Swimming Club, one by the Stratford i Acclimatisation Society', and three !by the primary school boys, have i been arranged. | Croquet competition is also includ- ; ed in the afternoon’s entertainment. i The ladies of the Stratford and Avon greens will take part in a | tourney on the strip of green nearest j the baths. j At the meeting of the execut’Te j of the Carnival Committee last night i advice was received that the Mayoress, Mrs. Russell Kirkwood, j would present the prizes. ; A strawberry and cream stall will be in charge of Mrs. Milne and the J children of the primary and technical I schools will conduct the) selling of ; the sweets and ice-creams. / j The Borough Council have coni seated to the closing of a small seo | lion of Clolon Road, from the corn!er of the swimming baths to the I school corner, and have promised to ; donate flags and other decorations.
