PILGRIMAGE TO VIMY.
KING TO PARTICIPATE. FIXTURE FOR NEXT MONTH. , LONDON, May 27. King Edward will visit France i July to inaugurate the great Canadia War Memorial on Vimy Ridge, whic lias now been completed, says th News Chronicle. The ceremony, which takes plac on lluly 26, will be attended by til President of the French Republic, .V Lebrun, it was officially confirmed a the French Foreign Office yesterday. One of the largest pilgrimages o modern times is being organised fo the occasion. From Canada will come some six o secen thousand ex-Servicemen an their relations. They will be joins' by contingents from Great Britain France and Belgium. The Memorial, dedicated to near!' 12,000 Canadians who fell in the Grea War and have no known grace, ha> taken ten years to build. It, will bi ilood-lit at night-time with a sof moonlight effect. Its two main pylons, 138 feet high will 'be visible from far around. in September King Edward wil make his first visit to Balmoral sinci his accession. It is expected ho wit stay there tor two or three weeks.
