Opinion Of American Actor.
Alan Hale, who arrived in England recently, believes that improvement in films will be in subject matter rather than technique.
“I have just completed a role in a big technicolour production,” he said, “and I have come to the conclusion that colour has a very small and unimportant future.
“The screen is fascinating because it shows life, not as it is, but as the audience would like it to be. The very fact that films are two-dime&i-sional and are photographed in black-and-white adds to this fascination. Give the screen a closer resemblance to reality by introducing colour and stereoscopy, and the audience will have nothing to do but go to sleep.” ; :

Warner Baxter says: “You can’t imagine how 1 feel making love on the screen to young girls in their ’teens. I look at myself in the mirror, and I know it’s ridiculous. Even the more mature leading ladies strike me as pretty young.” Sally O’Neill, -the Hollywood actress, arrived in London recently to play’ in “Kathleen Mavourneen,” which Norman Lee is directing for Argyle British Productions. Sara Allgood and Talbot O’Farrell are in the cast.
