TENSE TWO HOURS
MR. BALDWIN WITH KING MOMENTOUS CONFERENCE Gathering Expected To Be Prolonged. Press Association—Copyright. Received 1 p.m. To-day. London, December 8. At 7.30 to-night Mr. Baldwin had been at Fort Belvedere for over two hours. Every window was lighted up and it was expected that the gathering would be prolonged. A Berlin message says that the British criss was mentioned for the first time publicly by Herr Fritzsche, head of the broadcasting news service. In daily Press comment he referred scornfully to the foreign Press devoting themselves in more or less good taste to the description of the private affairs of the persons concerned, who had become the prey of camera and pen. He said the German Press takes a more chivalrous view. It directs its interest these days to home affairs — for instance, to collections for the winter-help fund.
