Dublin, Dec. 7. -j Mr de Valera had a conferences with Mr Walshe, Secretary of the De-, partmejnt of External Affairs, Mr Murphy, assistant-secretary, and Mr„ Hearne, the department’s legal ad- : viser, following a communication received from the Dominions Office after the London Cabinet meeting, says a Dublin message. The Irish Times comments: “The King must choose between his Crown and Mrs Simpson. It is well that the air should be cleared by' Mr Baldwin, for the people know precisely where they stand. Enemies of the British commonwealth everywhere are awaiting the chance to undermine its interests, and it is essential that British peoples should show a united front. Without a strong monarchy no such front is possible.”
