MEAT AGREEMENT
Duties Levied On Imports From Argentine. ' Press Association—Copyright. Received 11 a.m. London, December 2. The King received the Rt. Hon. Stanley Baldwin to-day. It is officially stated that the Argentine agrees to a duty on chilled beef of ijd. per lb, and on frozen beef of two-thirds of a penny per lb. Mutton, lamb and pork will be admitted free, with a progressive reduction in shipments of chilled beef and mutton. There is no guarantee regarding the quality of mutton for 1939.
