Relations Improved.
“At the time the' decision was taken to handle industrial disputes on, behalf of such groups of manufacturers as desired it, slight concern was evidenced by some members that these negotiations might lead us into the position of being treated as archenemies of all workers’ organisaions,” said Mr. I. M. Matheson, president of the Wellington Manufacturers’ Association, at the annual meeting last night. “I am pleased to say' that during this the first year of experience our relations have improved rather than otherwise, it appears that in coming together in conciliation council and arbitration court the workers iti| manufacturifrig iiiduhtry and the. manufacturers themselves are finding a common goal, the desire to see the further development of .manufacturing in New Ze,aland. In helping to secure the bes>t results, the secretary of the association has played his part well.”
