“Baby in Pram is Not A Pedestrian”
ENGLISH DOUBT PLEA LONDON. Here’s a new one for the Minister of Transport: "Is a baby in a pram, being pushed n a street, a pedestrian?” The problem arose at Hull, when s lorporation bus driver, accused of no (lowing free passage to pedestrians a i beacon crossing, was stated to b-tv his bus as a woman, pushing , perambulator, left the pavement. The woman admitted that she htv .ot actually left the pavement, and th' lefence was that the baby in th ierambulator was not a pedestrian. The summons was dismissed, despitt i claim by the police that the baby was a human being. “There is a holt m the regulations,” said the magis trate.
