FROM THE MAYOR OF STRATFORD
GOOD WISHES FROM CITIZENS OF BOROUGH 1 he Annual Spring Show of the Stratford A. and P. Association is an event of more than mere social importance. While it is a real carnival to be enjoyed by all, it is at the same time a reflex of the farming and industrial life of our community. . Farmers meet and compete with farmers; merchants and manufacturers exhibit their products with pride and enthusiasm; townspeople find a common ground for the exchange of ideas with folk from the country districts. We people of Stratford Borough are very proud of the reputation of the annual A. and P. Show. We are proud, too, of our efficient farming neighbours and of the quality of their products. So we support the Show enthusiastically every year. , 1 his is a time for optimism, and 1 am sure that such optimism will be reflected in every aspect of this year’s exhibition. I know that on Wednesday and Thursday next we will see a remarkable demonstration of the natural productivity of our soil and the enterprise and ability of our farmers. On behalf of the citizens and councillors of the Borough of Stratford, I extend very good wishes for successful farming l in Central 1 aranaki in the years to come. J. W. McMILLAN, Mayor.
