' „.. - , Auckland, June 2. ■when -detectives- were investigating thefts from passengers on the Niagara^ they found silver valued at £7 and -serviette rings valued at £3 10s planted. Iwo stewards confessed to the theft \f these articles, and at the Police Court to-day Charles J. Harris, for theft of silver, and William Harris for theft of serviette rings, were eacß sentenced to three months' hard labour.
