ORGAN RECITAL.
The first of a series of organ recitals which are to be continued monthly was given by Mr Herbert S. Claughton at the School of Music on Saturday night. Mr Claughton's items were Prelude in G major (Mendelssohn), "L'enfant Prodigue" (Debussy), Fugue in G minor {Bach), Andantino in G minor (Cesar Franck), Fantasia in ]> minor (Mozart), melodies of two North American Indian tribes (Sioux and Pueblos) arranged [or the organ by the performer, Melody in F (Wolstenholme), ahcT the noteworthy "Suite Gothique" 'by. the Dutch composer Boellmann. The recitalist's playing gave much pleasure to those present. Mrs Claughton sang "The Lost Chord," to orgcin accompaniment. "The Minnie Song" and "Son of Mine," two ''Freebooter Songs" by Wallace, wore sung by Mr A. G. Thompson. Tlie vocalists were also heard in Lohr's duet "The Day is Done." '
