Christchuroh, June ]. It is announced here that trie industrial position in New Zealand has been eased by the settlement of - -c dispute between the New Zealand Waterside Workers' Federation and the shipping companies. The federation has decided to accept the employers' offer of an Increase in wages on ordinary time amounting to 2d per hour, and 3d per hour overtime, both to apply to ail classes of work. The effect is to increase che wages of waterside workers from Is 10d to 2s per hour.
