Various remits on matters of organisation having been referred to an Jrg^nisation Committee, that committee's *?j^port was partly considered last night t% tlig Reuuiied Conference. The Finance Committee 'estimate! the income for the incoming year at £3750 and. the expenditure at £3283 13s. The following officers were elected:— President, Dr. Boxer; treasurer, Mr"it 3. Aldntu. JiWeicujimfe: Auckland, Messrs Watts, Long, Pollock, and Ching; Wellington, Messrs Batten, HarCurt:\.Mie. Bell, Cowles, and Jacoba •q^lmerstou North was fixed as \,he> cMtre <:f the district); Canterbury, JMessrs McCallum, Leadley, Anderson, a^.d Scott; Otago Messrs McLean, 'taing, Graham, and Miller. A motion to ask the Government to eet up a Commission to inquire into tiie question of employing permanently disftfeUnl men in Goyennnent departments iaad other industries was carried. Christchurch, June 1. ,lhe conference was resumed io-iia.y (Sund;i_v). It was resolved that, having regard to the present great scarcity of houses in Tvew Zealand, the conference urge on the Government the immediate and ipressiuK nocessity for State action to•^a'rds building l-.omes suitable for occupation 'by returned men and their do pendents, and that it be not confined to erecting blocks of houses on special Goy^rnmont areas, but to distribute houses *n. as many quarters of a town as poserole.
