Election of Trustees aud Auditors under the Nelson Trust Funds Act. WHEREA& WRITS under the hand of " * his Honor John Perry Robinson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, bearing date the fourteenth day of December, instant, have been directed to me, John Pointer, Esquire, Resident Magistrate and Returning Officer, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the persons duly qualified for that purpose freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, SEVEN PERSONS to serve as TRUSTEES under the said Act for the ensuing three years, and also TWO PERSONS to serve as AUDITORS under the said Act for the ensuing year. Now therefore I, the said John Poynter, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writs, give notice that WEDNESDAY, the first day of January next, 1862, is appointed for the NOMINATION to take place at noon, at the Court House, Nelson, and in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby further appoint TUESDAY, the 28th January next for the POLLING to take place. The polling to commence at Ten o'clock in the forenoon, and close at Four o'clock in the afternoon of the said day. Austin j School-house, Waimea East, by Mr. W. Stanton; School-house, Waimea West, by Mr. Georg Walker; School-house, Spring Grove, by Mr. Thomas Andrews; School-house, Wakefield, by Mr. R. Tne aforesaid Act requires that • every householder in each educational district shall pay, annually, twenty shillings, ati'l a further sum of five shillings for every child of such householder between the ages of five and fourteen years : Provided always, that no person shall be liable to pay for more than four childien, nor for any child residing more than three miles from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attending any school not established under this Act, in respect of whom such person shall produce to the Collector a certificate, signed by the teacher ot such school, showing that such child has attended during the three months previous to the levying of the rate.' TN pursuance of the provisions of an Act, ■*- oftho General Assembly of New Zealand, inti tilled ' The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858,' I, Alexander Le Grand Campbell, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Motueka, do hereby give notice, that, by virtue of a Writ bearing: date the 4th day of November, 1861, issued by his Excellency the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, an ELECTION will be held for the return of TWO qualified persons to serve as MEMBERS of tho PROVINCIAL COUNCIL for the said Electoral District; and that the NOMINATION of candidates will take place at the Institute, Motueka, on MONDAY, the Sixth day of January, 1862, at noor ; and that the POLL (if necessary) will take place on MONDAY, the 13'h day of January, 1862 ; and the result of the Poll declared at Four, p.m., on the same day.
