INpursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled •The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858,' I,: John Shabp, Returning.Officer for the Electoral District of the City of Nelson, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the Fourth da? of November, 1861, issued under the hand of his Excellency the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, an ELECTION will be held for the return of SIX qualified persons to serve as MEMBERS of the PROVINCIAL COUNCIL for the said Electoral District; and that the NOMINATION of candidates will take place at the Provincial Hall, Nelson, on MONDAY, the Thirtieth day of December, 1861, at Noon; and that the POLL (if necessary) will, be taken on MONDAY, the Sixth day of-January, 1862.
