THB above-named COMMISSIONERS having been appointed by his Excellency the Governor " for the purpose of receiving articles the produce or manufacture of the colony, and of selecting and transmitting to London such articles as may be thought worthy of exposition," take the earliest opportunity of soliciting the co-operation of their fellowcitizens, so that the Province of Nelson may be worthily represented in the forthcoming Great Exhibition. The following list includes articles suitable for exhibition :— Mineral ProductsGold Copper Chrome, and its manufactures Coal Iron Sand Tin Plumbago Limestone. Flax—raw and Manufactured, including pulp for paper-making. Wool—washed, unwashed, dyed, and manufactured into cloth. Agricultural ProduceWheat, Oats, Barley, Malt, Pease, Beans, Flour, Biscuit, Oatmeal, Ale and Porter (in cask), Hops,< Dried and preserved Fruits, Specimens of Wood—in plank and Scantling, and accompanied with dried twigs and pressed leaves of each wood. Wood manufactured—Furniture, Cabinet Work, &c. Architectural and Building Contrivances Models of Colonial and Other Houses. Skins, Feathers, and Hair. Shells, suitable for manufacturing purposes. Leather, manufactured. Specimens of Natural Histoiy. And any other article produced or obtained by human industry, whether of Raw Materials, Machinery, Manufactures, or Fine Arts. Articles not included in the above list will also be forwarded, if considered suitable by the Commissioners. Specimens of timber should be converted into plank or scantling, say six feet long and four inches thick, and cut so as to show the sap on both edges. Where more samples than one are sent of any article, the best samples only will be forwarded, at the discretion of the Commissioners. A room has been set apart at the Government Buildings, where Mr. Greenfield will, on behalf of the Commissioners, receive eveiy article sent, and give a receipt. The very latest date at which goods can be received is the Ist of November next. Articles will be carefully packed, and forwarded free of cost, to the Government Agent in London, who will see the goods properly placed in the Exhibition. Exhibitors are requested to forward a full description of the articles sent, and to state the locality whence they are obtained. Subscriptions, to defray the expenses of packing and forwarding articles, &c., &c., will be received by any of the Commissioners, or at the Union Bank. The Commissioners will meet at the Government Buildings every Monday, at Two, p.m., where they may be consulted by intending exhibitors. On behalf of the Commissioners, C. ELLIOTT, 10 Hon. 20s. per shave 3 months thereafter, and the remaining 60s. per share by calls at intervals of not less than three months, and of which three months' notice shall be given. In no case the call to exceed £1 per share. No further calls to be made without the consent of three fourths of the proprietors present at a meeting specially convened for that purpose. The shares have been fixed at the moderate sum of iglO, with a view of enabling all classes of the community to identify themselves with the monetary interests of the country. Branches ofthe "Bank of New Zealand" will be established in every town of importance in the Colony. Each Branch to be managed by a Local Manager appointed by the General Boaid, and two Directors, chosen by the resident local proprietary, when the local proprietary represent a capital of £40,000 in the Bank, until which time Buch Directors to be appointed by the General Board. In London there will be a Board of Direction and Secretary ; and it is anticipated that a sufficient number of influential Colonists, shareholders in the Bank will always be found resident in London to form such Board. Arrangement with some desirable English Bank will be made for effecting Exchange. The " Bank of New Zealand'» will make advances upon Bills of Lading, Bonding Warrants, and other legitimate secuiities. It will be the object of this Bank to render all possible accommodation and facilities consistent wiih its proper functions to the merchant, settler, storekeeper and farmer. The Balance Sheet of the Bank will be made up every half-year, say on the 30th June and 31st December, and forwarded to each proprietor, together with the Directors' Report, prior to the half-yearly meetings, at which the Dividend will be declared. Trustees to be named provisionally to appoint the necessaiy officers—to cause the Prospectus to be published and circulated—to receive applications for shares—to allot shares—to open Banking accounts— to receive and apply the deposit of 2sy€d. per share in payment of preliminary expenses—to prepare the Deed of Settlement for execution of subscribers—to receive the further sum of 17s. 6d. par share, payable on signing the Deed of Settlement, and to convene a meeting of qualified subscribers after one-half of the ares shall have been allotted, for the purpose of enabling such subscribers to elect the first Board of Directors, of which meeting due notice is to be given in one or more local papers. After the election of the Board of Directors, and transfer of Balance of Account to them, the duties of the Trustees shall cease. The qualification, for voting at the election of the first Board of Directors, or of becoming candidates for seats at such board, shall be the payment ofthe preliminary deposit of 2s. 6d. per share, and the further sum of 17s. 6d, per share, and the execution of the Deed of Settlement, before the meeting to be convened by the Trustees for the election of such Board. Any duly qualified subscriber for 200 shares, who shall have given to the,provisional secretary at least seven days notice in writing of such his intention, shall be eligible as a candidate for a seat at the Board, and all qualified subscribers shall be entitled to vote in proportion to the number of their shares, according to the following scale, viz., For 5 shares, 1 vote. 12 shares, 2 votes. 25 shares, 3 votes. 50 shares, 4 votes. And 2 votes for every additional 50 shares. Upon the application for shares there shall be paid to the Trustees a deposit of 2s. 6d. per share to be applied in defraying the preliminary expenses, but such applicants as shall not qualify to vote as herein before mentioned by the payment of the further sum of 17s. 6d. per share, and by signing the Deed of Settlement, shall not be required to execute the said Deed of Settlement until after the election of the firat Board of Directors, and should such applicants decline or neglect to pay the said further sum of 17s. 6d. per share, and to execute such Deed of Settlement aftei such Election and notice given by the Directors in one or more local newspapers for a period of 14 days, then such applicants shall be deemed and declared to have forfeited the said deposit of 2s. 6d. per share and all interest in the said Bank, and shall not at any future time be allowed to execute the said Deed of Settlement in respect of such shares so allotted to them, and all liability of such applicants in respect of such shares shall thereupon cease, and such shares may be re-allotted to other applicants. It is proposed to reserve at least 10,000 shares for sale in England. Applications for shares, accompanied by the deposit of 2s. 6d. per share, to be made in the following form and addressed to the Provisional Trustees at the New Zealand Insurance Company's office, Fraser's Buildings, Auckland ; or to Messrs.
