Brown, Gladiator; For Auckland—Gananoque, Black Eagle, Mermaid. For Canterbury—Royal Stuart, Denventwater, Sebastopol, Evening Star. For Otago—Hound, Chili, Winged Arrow, Robert Henderson. For Wellington—Asterope, Albemarle, Arabella. Messrs. Shaw and Savill's celebrated clipper ship, Velore, arrived here on the oth instant, after a passage of 148 days from Gravesend, which she left March 10, the Dowii3 March 13, and Spithcad March 25th. She crossed the line on the 7th of May, sighted Trinidad on the 18th, and passed the meridian of the Cape on the 11 th of June, in latitude 43-20. Sighted Tasmania on the 16th July, Stewart's Island on the 25th, and Cape Saunders on the 27 th, when she was blown to the northward. She spoke the King of Algeria (arrived at Melbourne on the 18th ultimo), and the Albatross, London to Calcutta, on her passage,— Otago Colonist. The ship Velore arrived at Otago on 6th August, after a passage of 152 days, with 20 passeugers and a large general cargo. An Otago paper says Shaw, Savill, and Co. certainly deserve praise for the fastsajling class of vessels they send to that port!— Otago Witness. The Lord Worsley, steamship, from Manukau, 20th July, arrived at Sydney on the 26th. The Rebecca from Newcastle to New Zealand with coals had to put into Sydney to discharge some of her caryo, she being too deep. 300 emigrants left Glasgow for Otago, on the Ist June, by the Pladda. The Robert Henderson was advertised to sail on the 10th July for same province.
