OBITUARY.
Admiral Sir R. S. Dundas died suddenly on June 3, at his residence, Spring-gardens, from disease of the heart. He succeeded the late Admiral Sir Charles Napier in command of the Baltic fleet in 1855 ; he was born April 11,1802. Commissary-General Maclean was born in 1795, entered the commissary service iv 1812. and was created K.C.B. and Commander of the Sardinian Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus for bis services in the Crimea.
Lord Chancellor Campbell died suddenly on June 23. In the course of the afternoou of the 22nd he walked from Dawning-street to Strathedenhouse, a distance of nearly two miles, dressed for dinner, and received company; about 11 o'clock he retired, and was found at 8 o'clock next morning, cold and lifeless, in his chair, undressed. He was 83 years of age.
On the same day died Lord Abinger, the brother-in-law of Lord Campbell. On June 25th, in the 39th year of his'age, his Majesty Abdul Medjid, Sultan of Turkey. He was endowed with many amiable qualities, and his noble conduct to Kossuth and his fellow-exiles will always be remembered as an act of heroism. He is succeeded by his eldest son Sultan Mourad, now about 21 years of age.
