The ploughing match advertised in a late number came off last week in Mr. Lines's field, Richmond. Messrs. Castle and Hill acted as judges, and Mr. Stratford as umpire. ~: ; The prizes were awarded as follows:— First Class.—Horse Teams.

Second Cl ass.—Bullock: Teams! , Five teams.started. ;; ■ -.';.. * Ist Prize (£4)— North, ploughman; Butler, ~ owner of team. ■ : , : ■ ;> 2nd Prize (£2)—Hammond, ploughman; Barnicoat, owner of team. . . v - - Third Class.—Horsk or Bullock Teams. The:compeat6rer for,these prizes were under 16 years of age. Five teams started. Ist Prize (.£3)—Coleman, ploughman; Hammond, owner of team. * 2nd Prize (il)—Job Lines, ploughman; T. Lines, owner of team. ■ The dinner that took place at the Star and Garter after the match was presided at by Messrs. Havkness and Butler, and the evening was passed with much enjoyment and conviviality.
