Deposit paid—j£3o. Jame» Rochfort.. District—The Buller. Being the open land situated in the Inangahua, or Thackeray, and Waitu rivers. Bounded on the northward and eastward by bush : on the - southward and westward by the River Inangahua. Estimated extent —under 3000 acres. Deposit paid— £s. George Edwards.. District—The Wai-au-ua. ?or a portion of country so as to include two grass plains, lying between the most easterly branch of the River Wt»i-au-ua and the next branch to the westward. Bounded on the east by the Wai-au-ua, and extending westerly six or seven miles (by an average width of one mile and a-half), to and beyond the branch to the westward, so j as to include the whole of the westerly plains. I YIfHEREAS, by an Act of the General * * Assembly of New Zealand, intituled the I " Mifitia Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall bo lawful for the Governor in Council, from time to time, to constitute throughout the colony, or in any part j thereof, Militia Districts, and such districts from time to time to abolish, and the boundaries thereof to vary, and to designate the Militia of any such district by the name of a Regiment, Battalion, Corps, or Comj pany, as he shall think fit: And whereas, by an order in Council, dated the 13th day of January, 1859, and published in the New Zealand, Gazette on the 14th of ! the same month, the Wellington Militia District was j constituted : And whereas, by an Order in Council, dated the 27th day of February, 1860, and published i in the Neiu Zealand Gazette on the Ist day of March, 1860, the Nelson Militia District was constituted: And whereas, by an order in Council,; dated the sth day of April, iB6O, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the same day,, the Auckland Militia District was constituted: And whereas inconvenience has arisen from the constitution of the said districts, and it is expedient that the same should be abolished, and that new districts respectively should be constituted in lieu thereof: Now, therefore, his Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive; Council, in exercise of the above recited power, doth by this present order abolish the said Militia Districts, and doth constitute.three several Militia Districts, to be called and known by the several names following, namely ;— WELLINGTON, NELSON, and AUCKLAND; and doth define the respective boundaries of the said districts as follows:— Of the Wellington District the circumference of;* circle having a radius of fifteen miles from the point where the Hutt River enters Wellington Harbor. Of the Nelson District the circumference of « circle having a radius of fifteen miles from the point where the Western mouth of the Waimea River enters the sea at the Western point of Rabbit Island. Of the Auckland District the circumference of a circle having a radius of fifteen miles from the point where the Great South Road intersects the Western boundary line of " Clendon's Grant," between Otahuhu and Papakura, except so much of the area within the said circle as lies to the north of the Waitemata.
