H.M. ships Miranda, Niger, and Fawn are in the Manukau, having brought up Colonel Leslie and a portion of the 14th and 40th Regiments and Royal Artillery from the Waitara. The troops were landed at Onehunga. Part of the 65th regiment, under the command of Captain M'Gregor, marched to Auckland, the rest of the troops encamping at Onehunga. An accident to the machinery of the Niger occurred during the trip for these detachments of/troops, but it was soon put -to rights. The Niger -leaves for England shortly, where she will undergo a thorough overhaul. We understood that Lieutenant Garforth, of the Pelorus, is about to join the Niger, vice White, of the Niger, who joins the Pelorus.— Southern Gross, May 7.
