Second horse to save his stake.- Horses to be named within a quarter of an hour after the last heut for the Scurry Piatc, and to be handicapped by the Stewards, or .whom they msy appoint. The FORCED HANDICAP of 10 per, centum of the gross amount of the public money won (exclusive of stakes or entrances); h ft; for the winner of any race, excepting the Great Nelson Trial Stakes and Consolation Plate; open to any other horse by making a stake of 5 soys; h ft. Second horse to save his stake. Horses to be .named at the same time as for the Consolation Plate, and to be handicapped in the same manner. Once round and a distance. Regulations. An allowance of 4 lbs. will be made to all horses brought from the other provinces of New Zealand to run at this meeting. No person not a subscriber of Two Guineas to the fund will be allowed to enter a horse for any race. The prices will be paid by the Treasurer, on the Monday following the races, at the Trafalgar Hotel, at Eleven o'clock, a.m. Entries (excepting for the Scurry Plate, Handicap Sweepstakes, Consolation Plate, and Forced Handicap) to be made, and colours of the riders declared, under a sealed cover, to the Secretary of the Turf Club, at the Trafalgar Hotel, at or before Six o'clock, p.m., on Thursday, the 28th of March. No public money will be added to the sweepstakes by the Stewards,'unless two horses, the bona fide property of separate owners, do start A bell will ring for saddling, and another for starting ; not more than five minutes allowed after the last bell, when the horses at the post will be started.
