Estimated extent—about 10,000 acres. : Deposit paid—£ls. George Thomson District—the Grey. All that grass and available country situate on both banks of the g, ; River Otututu, a tributary of /f the Grey, situate twenty-six ■ miles in a straight line from x '. the mouth of the Grey, and one mile from the junction of the Mawhera-iti with the Grey, beginning at the junction of the Otututu with the Grey, and extending about nine miles up that river. Estimated area—-under 6000 acres. Deposit paid—£lo. George Thomson Districts—the Grey and Buller. That portion of the waste lands of the Crown situated in the Grey and Buller districts of the West Coast, bounded as follows:— On the north by Mount Gore and bush; on the west, by bush; on the east, by the central range bounding "the Grey district, running north and south; and on the south, by bush, comprising all the grass and available country on both banks of the Rivers Maugahua and Waituhu before their junction. 'TENDERS will be received at this Office, -^ until noon on the Ist of January, 1861, in duplicate, from Parties willing to contract for the CONVEYANCE of MAILS twice a month between BLENHEIM and BIRCH HILL, for (12) Twelve Months, ending 31st December, 1861; or for such longer period as the Postmaster-General may determine. The Mails to be taken from the Post-office, Blenheim, on the 14th and 26th of every month, and to be delivered on the return of the Contractor on the 6th and 19th of the same, or on such other days as may be found necessary. Also to CONVEY MAILS to and from PICTON and BLENHEIM, twice a month, on such days as may hereafter be decided upon, for a period of (12) Twelve Months, ending 3lst December, 1S61; or longer if required by the Postmaster-General. Security for the due performance of the Contracts will be required; and the Postmaster-General will have power to employ parties for the conveyance of the Mails at the expense of the Contractors should they fail in the performance thereof.
