RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Satubday, November 3, 1860.
[Before J. Poynteu, Esq., Resident Magistrate.] Messrs. Nash and Scaife were summoned by one of the constables for allowing a horse, their property, to wander at large. Mr. Nash, in admitting the charge, said that people were in the habit of passing through the paddock, and wilfully left the gate open after them. " Fined 2s. 6d. : An information was laid against Mr. Hugh Martin y oi Stoke, for allowing eleven head of cattle, his property, to wander at large, contrary to the Road Board Ordinance. The charge was sustained by Mr. Hugh Stafford, who testified to the brands as being those of defendant's. Fined 29 each and costs. Henry Coombs, gardener, was again brought up on a charge of drunkenness, and was ordered to find two sureties in £25 each, and himself in J2O. In default, to be locked tip for three months.
