Beef, sd. to 7d.; Mutton, sd. to 7d.; Veal, 7d. to Bd.; Pork, 7d. to Bd. Bacon, Is. to 13. 2d.; Hams, Is 4d. per lb. - Fowls, per pair, 3s. to 55., scarce; Ducks, 65.; Geese, each, ss. to 65.; Turkeys, 7s. to Bs. . \ ■'■ Potatoes, 6s. per 100 lbs; Onions, none.
Canterbury Markets.—The grain market is without animation. Wheat is quoted at 7s. 6d. to Bs., with little doing. Oats have slightly improved, and are quoted at 3s. 9d. to 4s. 3d., some demand having been experienced for the Auckland market. The quotation of barley is nominal, as there is none in the market. Flour remains at £24 per ton for the best quality.— Lyttelton Times. .
From Tasmania we have papers to the 9th instant. The Hobart Town Mercury reports: The wheat market is quiet, and Ba. 2d is quoted as the market figure. ...... Potatoes are stationary, at £8 to £9 per ton, "Fine flour is steady at £20 per ton. ; Hay—loose fetching from £5 10s. to £6 10s. per tofi according to quality: country pressed from £5 to £6.
