DUN MOUNTAIN COPPER MINING COMPANY.
SEVENTH lIEPORT. Since the last General Meeting of this Company, the Directors have received intelligence from the Dun Mountain Mines which, they are happy to say, confirms the favorable, anticipations conveyed in thtir last report, as to tho prospect of considerable quantities of Chrome Ore being obtained; the following 'paragraph is extracted1 from the Committee's letter of 3.oth January, I860:— "The point of most importance at the mines'is, thatlthe Chrome Lode has been cut in the deep level, which^thus proves that the' Ore exists in depth,'to which fact you will attach the highest importance; this level being 28 fathoms below the upper level there can now be no question of the existence of very considerable quantities of Chromate of Iron upon your' property. 1' Your directors have been favored with several interviews with Dr. Hochstetter, who visited the Mines last year; his impression as to the quantity and quality of the mineral is very satisfactory;: the Directors also received valuable information in reference to the property' of the Company, and respecting the mines of tlie Colony generally. . 'ifA parcel of 40 toils of Chrome Ore is on the way to this country by the Oliver Cromwell, expected to arrive in the course of next month, to be followed by additional shipments at an early date; besides which a further large supply is ordered to- be prepared for transit by the railway when constructed. It will be in the recollection of the: Shareholders, that at the last meeting it was contemplated to employ an engineer to make, the survey for a Railway over a proposed new line of road, and looking 'at the difficult country through which it would have to pass,
