THE GREAT EASTERN.
The Great Eastern, appointed to sail for America on the.afternoon of June 16, did not leave the Southampton waters until the imorning of Sunday, June 17- The weather was thick and stormy, but she passed through the Needles. By the evening she was in sight of Plymouth, paddle and screw going, but no canvas set. She carried only 40 passengers. She is" bound for New York. The commanders of. several home-wai\l-uound ships report having sighted her. The captain of the Assuncion, which has arrived at Falmouth from .Havana, ,states that he passed the great ship at 10 a.m. on the 18th of June, in lat. 49.30 N., long 8.4. W.
