In the House of Representatives, on Thursday, the 2nd of August, Mr. H. E. Curtis, one of the Nelson members, asked fhe Colonial Secretary, Whether the Government has received information of the wreck of the schooner Pride of the Isles, and ol the conduot of certain natives upon that occasion; and whether the Government contemplated taking any action in the matter. This almost confirms the worst fears respecting the fate of this smart little craft and her still smarter crew. It is pretty certain that she was wrecked somewhere near Manukau; but no particulars can be as* yet ascertained farther than that the mail sent by her has been received here. The crew are well known, and all four, of them were able-bodied seamen.
