Melbourne Market—Hams and Bacon.—For guaranteed parcels of Sinclair's half and half, sales have been made to a moderate extent at la. per lb.— Butter has been sold in considerable parcels at Is. 5d., and there is some talk of a higher rate beingasked, — Age, April 19. . Geelong.—We make the following extract from this day's Advertiser :— The business at the Corn Exchange on Saturday last appeared to consist more in ascertaining what price the various grains were obtainable—those either buying or selling. A few samples of wheat went off at 9s. 3d., but holders were asking 9s. 6d.; flour, at the mills was selling at trooi £22 10s to £23; bran, Is. 6d., firm; oats have advanced to 3s. 9d. per bushel, and every species of produce appears, oddly enough at this season of the year,, to be on the rise.— Eerald. Hides.—-A large number of hides were offered on the l'Sth" ult., but as most of the lots were of an inferior quality, for which there was no great demand, nearly hair fhe quantity submitted had to be withdraw]}. For good shipping parcels, however, the demand is steady The highest price obtained was 15s S foraS of 116 hides. About 510 bales were sold at from 6s 6d to 15s each. Skins, Is 6d each.
