The ship Viscount Sandon, Capr. Hughes, from London, arrived in Wellington harbor on the afternoon of the 13th instant, after a passage .of 115 days. She sailed from Gravesend on the 19th October, and experienced fine weather during nearly the whole of the voyage. She'brings 76 cabin and steerage passengers and a full cargo of British merchandise. One death j occurred" on board, on the 22nd January. She pro-.'. ceeds'to Canterbury after discharging cargo for Wellington. • ,-■■. to convey emigrants from the port of Bristol to the kbovr province. The first ship, conveying 200 adults, having assisted passages, is to be despatched in the beginning of March next, and vessels will leave periodically afterwards.—Wowk News. .._ . The Lord Burleigh, the November Free Grant vessel for Auckland; sailed >om Gravesend on 17th November, with a full and valuable cargo of goods, and 140 chief cabin, intermediate, and steerage passengers.—lbid. Messrs Shaw, Savill, and Co. despatched from Gravesend on December 3 the Frenchman, one of the Passengers' Line of Packets and the largest ship ever sent from London to New Z;3aland. She proce'eda to Auckland direct, and carries a valuable cargo 270 passengers, of whom ,°9 go in thechiei (iabin. About 25 single women proceed by her who have been selected by Messrs. Ridgway the agents for the province, with the view of supplying the great demand in the colony for the services of fema c domestics. The great majority. of the passengers have availed themselves ofthe Free Grants of Land. The next packet of this Line is the regular trader Avalanche, to sail early in January.
