C, has lately given the following important legal opinion, which we publish for general information :—' By a recent Act of Coun. cil diggers are declared minors (miners), consequently the issue of miner's rights is an illegality; ai by the Common Law, miners have no rights. The minor's right, however being merely the right to pay one pound per annum, may be said to be no more than a poundage right., But the poundage right, being exercised against rather than by the minors, it follows that theStatutary right, even without the Oommon Law, amounts to nothing.
