Survey Office, Nelson, Dec. 29, 1859. THE undersigned hereby give notice, that they intend to APPLY to two or more Justices of the Peace, having jurisdiction within the Province of Nelson, at a sitting to be held on MONDAY, the 20th day of February, 1860, at the Court House Nelson, for an order for STOPPING UP, DI VERTING, and MAKING the undermentioned ROADS; and further, that we will cause survey plans of the several roads proposed to be stopped up, substituted, and made, together with the books of reference and.estimates, to be deposited on or before the 10th day of January, 1860, with the Clerk to the Magistrates at Nelson, and with Mr. Gkobge Titlor, constable for the district of the Takaka. I.—To stop up parts of a road in the Takaka district, lying be ween sections numbered 18 and 14 and section numbered 17, commencing at or about ten chains from the division line between sections 17 and 19, and running in a north-west direction, and terminating at the river Takaka. Also, to stop up other part of the said, road; commencing at or about twenty-five chains from the division line between sections numbered 17 and 19, and running in a south-east direction, and terminating at the division line between sections numbered L 0 and 12 respectively. Also, to stop, up part of a road in the said district, commencing and branching offin a south-west direction at., right angles from the last mentioned road, and lying between section 18 on the one side, and sections 19 and 20 on the other side, and terminating at its junction j with the proposed line of road from''the Waitapu ■ to the river Takaka. And to substitute in the place thereof a certain other road in the said district, 75 links in width, commencing at a place known as Manuka Point, in section number 16, and running in a southwest direction, about 25 chains through the said section^ and partly through a native reserve; thence in a south-east direction until it strikes the line of road in front of Mr. Haldane's house; thence from a point on the sajd line of road at or about ,35 chains in a south-east direction, until it strikes the Motupipi line of road; and thence in a south-east direction, until it strikes the river Takaka, at or near the spot known as Spittal's Ferry. 2.— To stop up part of a certain road in the said district, and lying between sections numbered 5 and 9 on fche oj>e side, and 6 and 10 on the other side, and commencing about three chains from the Motupipi mud-flat, and terminating at the Motupipi trunk line of road near the banks of the river Motupipi. And to substitute in the place thereof a certain other road in the said district, 75 links in width, commencing at the banks of the river Motupipi, and proceeding in a south westerly direction through sections numbered respectively 5 and 9, and terminating at or near the banks of the said river, about 105 chains, thence about 15 chains in a north-west direction, till it joins the road running between sections numbered 10 and 18, thence in a westerly direction for about 10 chains through section numbered 18, and thence in a south-west direction about 50 chains; through the'said section 1.8, until it strikes the proposed line of road from • the Waitapu to Spittal's Ferry. • Also, a certain other road, 60 links in width, running in a northwesterly direction about 44 chains, through sections numbered respectively 5 and 6, atfd commencing at the Motupipi trunk line of road, and continuing along the division lines of the sections until it strikes the division line between sections numbered respectively 6 and 7, Takaka district 3.— To make a veto road, 60 links in width, commencing at the road line running in front of Mr. Haldane's house, and proceeding in a southwest direction for about five chains through section numbered 17, district of Takaka, thence in a BOjsjtfeerJy direction through the .said section to ih,e diyjisioa Jjnp between sections numbered 17 and J&, about ,five ,chujns, jfh'ence.in-a south-west direction on the boundary line ,pf jtfye said s.ectjon 17, until it reaches the river Takaka,' instance about 18 chains!
