The Cresswell.— This vessel arrived here after a passage of" 120 days, out of which she was detained 3 days at Canterbury, where she landed 151 passengers ; she then proceeded to this port, bringing with her 38 passengers for Nelson, and 2 for New Plymouth. All those who have arrived here speak very highly of the kindness and attention of the Captain during tlieir voyage. Captain Barnett is no stranger to'our coasts, and this instance is only a repetition of the respect shewn to him ori all former arrivals. She was signalled early in the morning, and arrived about 4 o'clock iri the afternoon, when the pilot having boarded her, she hove to, waiting for the arrival ofthe Tasmanian Maid, which was crossing from Motueka. : After landing her passengers upon the signal boinyshown by the Cresswell she proceeded outside, and oon made fast; bringing tlie barque in in some three quarters of an hour. Through the courtesy of Captain Whitwell, our reporter was enabled to go out with the Maid, and reports that all on board seemed extremely pleased with'the first appearance of their new home, remarking loudly upon the beauty of the scenery and apparent comfort of the houses which, as they approached became more and. more distinct.' •■-■■'
