Sine& writing the foregoing remark*., we have been kindly furnished with a list of the division yesterday morning of the Committee appointed to examine this matter, and we find that Messrs. Curtis, Sinclair, Dodson, Wells, and the Provincial Solicitor voted that Mr. Wilkie's section be selected. Ou the contrary, we find the names ofthe same number, Dr. Monro, the. Provincial Secretary, Mr.. Sharp, Mr. Wemyss, and Dr. Renwick. ■ We applaud the modesty of thelast named gentlemanin votinghimself i-800 for a section sold originally afc £50, and upon which no labor has been used or improvements made; a fair assessment would perhaps be £250. Two members also, Messrs. Elliott and Mackay, voted for Dr. Renwick's section, but at the same time entered a protest against it being chosen, as they only considered it superior to the other, and not in itself a fit position for ! such a public work: It was recommended that ! the. hills near trua'port be well examined ; and an advertisement appears in this issue from the Provincial Secretary, requiring" new offers of.land;;to.which we wish to call attention,
