TO CORRESPONDENTS.
A Wairau CouKEsroNDENT is thanked for his- kindness in communicating with us regarding the meeting referred to, but the illiberally displayed, should not cause surprise when it is remembered that selfish policy rather than fair arid free exposition of public events has always guided that medium. If further evidence were required, our correspMident may be reminded of thes.warm dispute that ensued between two of the parties present, bat the rebuff that one of them received reads extremely mild and disjointed through that interested source. " One Interested " is informed tbatthe N.B. attached to the bottom of the memorial, was intended for our readers, and would not appear in the document for presentation. When the memorial was inserted by us, we embodied it in the introductory remarks. Tiie heading was also affixed by us to describe the object of the contents as clearly as possible.
