Tlie Horse Tamer.— Mr. Rarey gave a lecture on horse-taming, lately, at his school in Kinnertoh-street. The once savage, but now doclie horse, Cruiser, was exhibited; and two or three unruly beasts were tamed in sight of the audience, and brought to such a point of good breeding as to do anything they were bid, and to follow Mr. Rarey about with all the affection of a dog. A savage zebra was also introduced, and at first appalled the audience by the fierceness of his yells and his demeanour ; but Mr. Rarey compelled him tp lie down, and considerably, though not entirely quelled, the perilous wildness of his manners. The audience were highly delighted with the proceedings, and received Mr. Rarey with enthusiasm. ~.,,.', All the sailors in the French navy who bear firearms are to be supplied with rifles instead of the common musket.
