fto NELSON BOARD OF WOTtKS. nVTOTICE is hereby given, that the AS- -^ SESSMENT of all the landed and household property within the Town of Nelson is now COMPLETED, and may be inspected at this office, for the period of twenty-one days, during the usual office hours, by every owner or occupier of property insluded in the assessment. Any person considering himself aggrieved by this assessment, may, within twenty-eight days from this date, appeal to a Bench of Magistrates; in accordance with the provisions of the Bth clause of the Nelson Improvement Amendment Act, a copy of which may be seen at this office. The COUNCIL of GOVERNORS is prepared to give SIX EXHIBITIONS in the above Institution, tenable for one year, pending fresh arrangements, and of the value of £15 each. These Exhibitions will be awarded to lads whose parents or guardians reside more than four miles from the College; and every candidate will be required to be able to read fluently, to write with tolerable accuracy from dictation, and to work the four first rules of arithmetic. These Exhibitions will be liable to be forfeited by irregular attendance, insubordination, or improper conduct. Candidates will be required to attend at the Schoolroom on MONDAY, the 24th January, 1859, at 11 a.m. The first Quarter for the year 1859 will commence on TUESDAY, the 25th January.
