The Yarrow sailed from Sydney, for Nelson via Newcastle, on the 31st July.

The barque Isabella Hamilton, Captain Wittleton, arrived at Sydney from Kiapara, on the 2nd August. The City of Melbourne, barque, Captain M'Clements, sailed from Sydney for Auckland, on the 6th August. The schooner Rosebud, Captain Small, sailed from Sydney, for Wellington and Otago, on the 3rd August. The screw steamship, Istamboul, Captain Cole, arrived off Plymouth on Wednesday, May 12, 119 clays from Melbourne, having left on the 14th of January. She has experienced contrary winds nearly the whole of the passage from longitude 127.15 to 117.6 W., and from latitude 61. to 66 S. She fell in with great numbers of icebergs, some of which were of immense size. In latitude 66 S. she met a heavy field of ice.— Australian and New Zealand Gazette, May 15.

The following vessels are advertised in the Sydney papers of the 7th August, for the various ports of New Zealand: —The Gazelle, Moa, and Gertrude, for Auckland; the Francis and the Spray, for Nelson and Port Cooper: the Cheetah and the William Alfred, for Wellington ; and the Content, for Otago.

The Harkaway sailed from Gravesend on^ the 19th April, for New Zealand. ' The Lord Ashley, steamer, was to sail from Milford Haven, for New Zealand, on the 19th May.

The Swordfish sailed for Auckland on the 18th April, from Gravesend.

The following vessels were loading at London for the various ports of New Zea'and:—Chieftain, Zealandia, Lord Worsley, Lady Alice, Avalanche, Regina, Robert Small, Oliver Lang, Agra, Mary Anne, Harwood, Pmth, and Indiana.

11. M. S. Megsera, from Sydney, with the 77th regiment, arrived at'Siri'gapofe on the 31st May. Experienced fine weather during the passage.

Mail Arrangements between New Zealand and Australia.—We understand that the New Zealand and Australian intercolonial steam service is all ready to commence operations, nnd the following arrangements have been made: —The European and Australian Mail Company carry the Mails to Sydney, from which place the steamers of Messrs Pearson and Coleman convey them to New Zealand. Messrs. Pearson and Coleman's steamers have to carry them to six different stations, viz., Wellington, New Plymouth, Auckland, Canterbury, Nelson, and Otago; and this has to be done monthly, and will require three steamers, two of which are the Lord Ashley and the Lord Worsley. This firm are establishing houses at at each station, and are sending out clerks for the whole of them. The steamers are expected to sail about the middle of May from Milford Haven.— Home News.
